The aim of the game is to be the first player to travel all the way round the board by answering questions. Each correct answer sees a player move forward one square.

The squares on the board are in eight different colours, each representing a different topic. The colour a player finishes a turn on designates the topic for their next turn. In this way, there is an overarching theme but also enough variety to keep the players fully engaged.

For example, if the Geometry Question Pack is being used, landing on red means questions on 2D shapes next time around; green would mean angles; and grey would mean Pythagoras’ Theorem. (For more information on the different question packs and their topics, please click here.)

In addition, each player is equipped with seven different lifelines: DUCK, ZOOM, DUMP, HINT, PASS, GRAB and LINK. This is where the fun comes in! The lifelines function in two ways: offering assistance to help the players work out answers and ensure progress is made; and adding an extra, competitive, dynamic dimension to the gameplay.

A player can switch the topic to one they are more confident in.

All correct answers from the next card double in value to 2 squares on the board.

A player can DUMP a difficult question on to the next player.

The question master will provide a HINT from the question card.

The question master skips to another question on the same topic and level.

A player GRABS a question they know the answer to off an opponent.

Two players join forces to answer questions together.
